Does Twilio support iMessage?
No. Twilio sends SMS, MMS, RCS, and WhatsApp on carrier rails; iMessage is Apple's channel and no CPaaS carries it. Sending blue bubbles requires a dedicated iMessage line from a platform built for it, which is a separate product category from Twilio, Telnyx, Plivo, and the rest of the CPaaS field.
The confusion is understandable: Twilio delivers to iPhones constantly, but always as SMS or RCS, arriving green from a business number. iMessage rides Apple's own infrastructure, needs no A2P registration, and arrives blue with read receipts. The rails are compared in Twilio vs Telnyx and the channel itself in iMessage for business.
Teams that want both keep them split by job: the CPaaS carries transactional notifications, and a dedicated iMessage line carries revenue conversations. Blue Reacher runs the iMessage half managed, with Twilio alternatives covering the full option map.
If the goal was specifically blue bubbles from your existing Twilio number: that is not a thing any vendor sells. A dedicated iMessage line with RCS then SMS fallback is the working equivalent, and porting your number in is supported across the category.
