Why Your Business Texts Aren't Delivering (and What Actually Fixes It)

Saad Khan4 min readDeliverability

TL;DR

Business texts that show as sent but never arrive are almost always being filtered by the carriers. Unregistered 10DLC traffic has been blocked outright since February 1, 2025, and registered traffic still gets scored on content and behavior, with no bounce and no error when it fails. Diagnose in order: registration status first, then content, then send pattern. If the job of your messages is starting conversations and you keep landing back in the filter, the durable fix is a channel that does not ride the carrier A2P rails at all.

Why are your business texts not delivering?

Carriers filter SMS silently. Messages go to the carrier and show as sent, but carriers drop them without notification. No bounce, no error, just silence. Falling reply rates are the first tell.

This happens two ways: texts never worked (registration issue) or worked for months then stopped (content or velocity flag). These have different fixes, so diagnose which one first.

The silent drop, step by step

  1. 1
Your platform hands off the messageDashboard: sent

Sent and delivered are both recorded at the handoff to the carrier, before any screening has happened.

  2. 2
The carrier screening layer scores itDashboard: sent

Content, links, volume patterns and recipient behavior are scored on every send, registered or not.

  3. 3
    The carrier drops itDashboard: sent

Unregistered 10DLC traffic has been blocked outright since February 1, 2025. Registered traffic that patterns like spam is filtered.

  4. 4
    Nobody is toldDashboard: sent

No bounce, no error, no notification to you or the recipient, and no appeal in the loop.

A filtered business text is recorded as sent at every step, so the dashboard stays green while nothing arrives. There is no bounce and no error at any point, which is why a falling reply rate is usually the first symptom a team notices.

How to tell which failure you have

Check symptoms in order. Error codes are fastest: Twilio 30034 means unregistered A2P 10DLC; 30007 means content filtering. GoHighLevel and most SMS platforms use the same rails, same failure modes.

What carrier filtering actually is, in plain language

Since February 1, 2025, major US carriers block unregistered 10DLC traffic outright. Registration with The Campaign Registry buys a lane on the rails. It does not guarantee delivery.

Registered traffic scores on content, links, volume, and recipient behavior on every send. An opt-out spike, shortened URL, or volume burst can fail a compliant campaign silently with no appeal.

The deeper mechanics are in our carrier filtering glossary entry.

Registration with The Campaign Registry buys your traffic a lane on the carrier rails. It does not buy delivery: every registered send is scored again, and a failed send produces nothing you can see.Carrier blocking of unregistered 10DLC traffic from February 1, 2025, documented in Twilio's changelog.

The fixes, in order of effort

If SMS is right for you, fix in this order and retest one variable at a time.

First: if unregistered, fix that. Brand registration runs 1-5 business days, campaign review 10-15 days. Our A2P 10DLC hub covers process, costs, and common denials.

Second, content: use branded domains, include sender ID and opt-out. Third, pattern: space sends over hours, respect throughput, watch opt-out. Full guidance: deliverability guide.

When the fix is the channel, not the campaign

Some traffic keeps failing the filter no matter how clean. Outbound sales to cold lists are what A2P models exist to suppress. That's a channel mismatch, not a deliverability problem.

An iMessage line moves traffic off the carrier A2P path. Delivery runs through Apple's service, so the silent drop becomes visible: either reachable over iMessage (confirmed before send) or fallback to RCS then SMS.

Transactional traffic (passcodes, alerts, reminders) belongs on registered SMS. Conversation-seeking traffic is covered in how to text leads without A2P registration.

Where Blue Reacher fits

Blue Reacher runs iMessage lines: unlimited iMessages (50 opted-in / 30 cold new contacts/day) at $249/mo, availability checks, delivery states, RCS then SMS fallback, STOP synced to CRM. Native in GoHighLevel.

You already paid for the lead. The channel is why they never replied. Book your Blue Funnel Map, a 15-minute call, and we'll text you a demo from a live line so you watch it deliver in real time.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my dashboard say delivered but customers get nothing?

Sent and delivered are recorded when your platform hands the message to the carrier, before carrier filtering. No bounce, no error by design. Tell: reply rates collapse while send metrics look normal. Check registration status first, then recent content changes, then correlation with send volume.

What do Twilio errors 30007 and 30034 mean?

30034 means unregistered A2P 10DLC; carriers block unregistered traffic outright since February 1, 2025, so registration is the only fix. 30007 means the carrier filtered a message on content or behavior. 30034 is paperwork; 30007 is the scoring models disliking your traffic.

Does registering for A2P 10DLC stop the filtering?

No. Registration lets you send; filtering continues on every send. Carriers score content, links, volume patterns, and behavior continuously. Compliant campaigns still fail silently when they pattern like spam. Registration plus clean content plus pacing is the full SMS answer, and may still not be enough.

Why did my GoHighLevel texts suddenly stop delivering?

GoHighLevel SMS uses the same A2P 10DLC rails. Usual causes: registration issue on the sub-account, content flag from recent changes, or velocity filtering on campaign bursts. Check A2P status first. If outbound sales, ask if it belongs on those rails: Blue Reacher runs iMessage natively in GoHighLevel.

Is there a business texting channel that carriers can't filter?

iMessage traffic does not pass through the carrier A2P filter path, so the silent drop doesn't apply. The constraint moves to device match: contacts must be reachable over iMessage, which availability check confirms before send, with RCS then SMS fallback. No A2P registration required; TCPA obligations are identical.
