What if a lead asks to stop?

They stop getting messages, in seconds and account-wide. Blue Reacher reads every inbound reply, catches STOP-style keywords and plain-language requests like "take me off this list", cancels queued sends, and suppresses the contact across every line, campaign, automation, and manual send. Every event lands in a timestamped audit trail you can export.

Detection runs in two layers. Keyword matching covers the seven terms the FCC treats as conclusive: STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL and UNSUBSCRIBE, in any casing. Plain-language detection covers the rest, which is most of the volume, because people type what they mean. A reply that only says "not right now" does not trigger suppression, because that contact is still in the conversation. The full mechanics are on the opt-out handling page.

Suppression is enforced everywhere at once. Queued sequence steps are canceled before they send, new campaigns skip the contact at build time, and the inbox blocks a manual send from a rep who never saw the earlier thread. The FCC allows up to 10 business days to honor a revocation; Blue Reacher does not use them.

Every event is recorded. Each audit-trail row holds the contact, the exact text of the inbound message that triggered it, the channel, the detection method, and the timestamp, and blocked attempts against suppressed contacts are logged too, so what you hold is a record of enforcement rather than a record of intent. The whole log exports to CSV.

Treat opt-outs as list hygiene rather than loss. On reactivation sends especially, the people who ask out are the people who were never going to buy, and every honored request removes a future complaint that would have damaged your sender reputation. The list cleans itself while you send. A contact who later asks to resume can be restored by an admin, with both events kept in the trail.

Enforcement is also a stated security practice: opt-outs are honored immediately and permanently across your account, as published on the security page and in the anti-spam policy. For the legal backdrop, the TCPA compliance guide covers revocation rules and logging in depth.
