iMessage Outreach for Cannabis, CBD and Supplement Brands
The short answer
Blue Reacher sends iMessage from your CRM for B2B cannabis, CBD, supplement wholesale. No carrier filter, so names, prices, links fit. No A2P registration. B2B only: brands, distributors, ancillaries to retailers.

Key takeaways
- Cannabis sits in aggressive carrier filter categories.
- Blue Reacher is B2B only: brands, distributors, CBD manufacturers and ancillary suppliers (packaging, POS, compliance software, security, logistics) selling to operators.
- Wholesale runs on small lists, short reorder clocks, lots of chasing.
- Setup is white-glove. Each rep gets a dedicated line, wired to CRM or system.
Where iMessage runs in the funnel
Why standard texting blocks cannabis and CBD
Cannabis sits in aggressive carrier filter categories. A2P 10DLC asks senders to submit samples. Naming your product describes the filter's target, so companies end up sending vague messages that still get throttled.
- iMessage changes it. No registration, vetting, or carrier filter; runs over Apple's data. What you write is what they read: names, SKUs, prices, links. RCS and SMS fallback still ride carrier rules.
Who this is for, and the limits
Blue Reacher is B2B only: brands, distributors, CBD manufacturers and ancillary suppliers (packaging, POS, compliance software, security, logistics) selling to operators.
- Hard limit: lawful where messages land and you hold the required licence. Consumer cannabis marketing is out. CBD and supplement claims must meet FTC and FDA rules. Run claims past counsel once at setup, not every time.
The wholesale plays that pay for it
Wholesale runs on small lists, short reorder clocks, lots of chasing. Buyers take calls from a dozen brands weekly and answer almost none. But they answer texts about SKUs they already carry.
- New account outreach: one message naming the buyer's store, the category gap you can fill, and a link to the wholesale sheet on your own domain. No attachment on the first message and no price ladder, just the reason to reply.
- Reorder cadence: a message timed off the account's own reorder interval rather than a calendar blast, naming the SKU and the last case count. Read receipts show who saw it, which is what tells a rep whether to call.
- New drop and limited release: a photo of the actual product in the thread, at full quality rather than compressed into an unreadable MMS, with allocation stated plainly and a deadline that is real.
- Compliance and paperwork chasing: licence renewals, certificates of analysis and updated resale certificates travel as real attachments the buyer can forward in one tap.
- Trade show follow-up: the message that goes out the evening of the conversation, from the number the buyer already saw on the booth card, beats the one that goes out on Monday from a marketing domain.
- Lapsed accounts: a quarterly check-in to buyers who stopped ordering, named to the last SKU they carried. The general play is at /use-cases/dead-lead-reactivation.
Those are our assumptions. The Blue Funnel Map runs the same arithmetic on the funnel you actually have, and you keep the map either way.
Run these numbers on your funnelConsent and opt-outs
Consent rules don't change with route. TCPA governs texts; prior express consent required. Blue Reacher catches STOP and plain requests, cancels sends, suppresses account-wide. Opt-out at one brand stops all.
- FCC April 11, 2025; revoke-all July 31, 2027. States add standards. Scheduled sends hold in business hours, recipient's zone. Wholesale lists: numbers from shows, applications, relationships. Purchased/scraped refused.
Setup, pacing and pricing
Setup, pacing and pricing
Setup is white-glove. Each rep gets a dedicated line, wired to CRM or system. Native GoHighLevel, REST API, webhooks for rest. Reorder triggers, status changes, licence expirations fire without opening a dashboard.
- $249/line/mo or $1,949/yr (about $162.50/mo), waives $449 activation. 4+ lines: $199/line. Unlimited iMessages, 50 opted-in / 30 cold new conversations per line daily. Most brands cover the line on one reactivated retail account.
Frequently asked questions
Can we name our actual product in the message?
Yes. Names, SKUs, prices, photos, domain links all go on iMessage because no carrier filter blocks the path. That's the practical difference from SMS. FTC substantiation and FDA disease-claim limits apply to text exactly as they apply to labels.
Do you work with plant-touching companies or only ancillary suppliers?
Both are assessed the same way. At setup, we ask: is the program lawful where messages land, and do you hold the required licence? Ancillary suppliers usually clear quickly. Plant-touching wholesale gets scoped with counsel. Consumer cannabis is outside B2B.
Our SMS provider shut us down mid-campaign. What is different here?
Shutdowns came from carrier enforcement on 10DLC, and iMessage isn't that traffic. No brand record to revoke. We still ask at setup: is the program lawful where it lands, and do you have a consent basis for the list? Those answer whether an account opens, before the first send.
What about buyers on Android?
Fallback is automatic: iMessage, then RCS, then SMS, with channel recorded per message. Fallback rides carrier routes, so SMS fallback hits the same filters you avoid on iMessage. Reporting shows what share took iMessage, telling you how much of the base is genuinely reachable.
Can we send certificates of analysis and licence documents?
Yes, as real attachments a buyer can open and forward in one tap, not portal links. Document chasing is one of the strongest uses for wholesale, because a certificate request stuck for days in email moves in an afternoon in a thread they answer.
Is a trade show badge scan a consent record?
Not alone. A badge scan means they walked past; consent means they agreed to texts. Capture permission explicitly at the booth and keep the language with the contact. That makes it your strongest list. Lists bought from event organisers without consent are refused.
