What is A2P 10DLC?

A2P 10DLC is the US carrier registration system that every business must complete before sending application-to-person text messages from a standard 10-digit phone number.

A2P means application-to-person: any message your software sends to a human. 10DLC refers to the standard 10-digit long code, the ordinary phone number format. Carriers built the registration system so every automated text on their network traces back to a verified business.

Registration has two layers: the brand (your company, verified against your EIN and website) and the campaign (the specific use case you are texting for). The Campaign Registry assigns your brand a trust score that determines how much volume carriers let through.

iMessage does not travel over carrier SMS routes, so there is no A2P 10DLC registration requirement for iMessage outreach.
