What is Opt-out?

An opt-out is a recipient's request to stop receiving messages, which must be honored promptly and permanently across your sending systems.

Classic opt-outs arrive as keywords like STOP, but under current FCC rules a request made by any reasonable means counts, including a plain-language reply such as asking to be removed.

Automated opt-out detection matters because a single missed request creates both legal exposure and the complaint pattern that damages sender reputation.
