What is TCPA?

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act is the US federal law governing automated calls and texts to consumers, including consent requirements and opt-out handling.

TCPA applies to business texting regardless of the channel used to deliver it. FCC rules effective April 11, 2025 require honoring revocation of consent made by any reasonable means, within 10 business days.

Statutory damages run per violation, which is why consent hygiene and immediate opt-out processing matter more than any single sending tactic. This is general information, not legal advice.
